📢 Calling All Kind Hearts! 📢 Often, survivors come into emergency shelter with only the clothes they’re wearing as there wasn’t a safe opportunity to bring anything more. In some instances, survivors come to us directly from the hospital after a traumatic physical event. New, clean, soft clothing offers comfort, especially if they have endured injuries. We need your help with some specific items for adults and youth: ▪️ Soft Pajama Pants ▪️ Plain T-shirts ▪️ Underwear ▪️ Bras and Sports Bras ▪️ Socks ▪️ Sweatpants and Hoodies We cannot accept any other clothing at this time. Please be sure items are new with tags. Thank you for caring for our most vulnerable community members by offering the comfort of something warm and soft to wear while they heal. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Rand, Sue, and Andrea for their time and generosity last weekend. Rand and Sue drove 2 hours one way to deliver furniture, donated by Andrea, to a survivor who had recently moved into a new place through our housing program. Donations like this not only help furnish spaces but also bring warmth and a sense of home to families who are starting a new chapter. Thank you!
#MissionMonday "We received a large shipment of shelter supplies, and a client passed by as we were bringing them in. I stopped to greet her and asked how her day was going. She smiled and said her day was great because I took the time to acknowledge and simply ask how she was. She added that this was one of the many reasons she was grateful to be at our shelter." - Chelsey, Program Coordinator
#MissionMonday "A client locked her keys in her car with her toddler inside. She ran to the front door in a panic. We ran out to the car and calmly reassured her that we would get someone to come open it right away. As I spoke with the client, my coworker called Olympic Lock and Key and within minutes they arrived and had the door open. The client was so relieved and thankful for all the help we gave." - Billy, Shelter Support Assistant
